Mike Delfino is a man who posed as the friendly neighborhood plumber, but who was actually working to find his former girlfriend (Deirdre Taylor) who had been missing for years and whose father, Noah, was dying. It was discovered that the toy chest that was dug up from the Young family pool contained the remains of Deirdre. Delfino was at one point convicted of dealing drugs and committing manslaughter when he accidentally killed a corrupt cop who was forcing Deirdre to have sex with him to keep quiet about her drug addiction (Deirdre, not Mike, was the drug dealer).Mike is Zach's biological father. In the process of his investigation, Mike struck up a romance with Susan Mayer. The relationship hit shaky ground upon the discovery that Mike was Zach's father. Susan was understandably afraid of Zach after having been held up by him, and she also felt the need to protect her daughter from Zach. For these reasons, Susan not only encouraged Zach to head to Utah, but gave him the money to get there as well. When Mike discovered that Susan sent Zach to Utah, he ended their relationship up to that moment.After Edie Britt sets Susan Mayer's home on fire, Mike helped Susan obtain a wire to convince Edie to confess. Mike then asks Susan if she would consider moving in. Susan gives the thought consideration and leaves Mike's house. Later they make up and he wants to propose to her in the second season's finale, but on his way he is hit on purpose by a car driven by the dentist Orson Hodge. He survived, but was in a coma from which he woke up 7 months later but suffered retrograde amnesia, losing the last 2 years of his past. Having forgotten his relationship with Susan Mayer, Mike had new, distorted ones suggested to him by Edie Britt.He was soon arrested as Monique Polier's (whom he somewhat remembers) blood was found on his wrench and subsequently dumped by Edie. Since then Susan and Ian are doing the best they can to get him out of jail. In prison he is found by Paul Young who attempts to befriend him in order for Zach to contact him and try to find Felicia Tilman, of whom he was accused of murdering at the end of Season Two.Later he visited a hypnotherapist to try to remember who murdered Monique Polier. Flashbacks helped him regain all of his memory, and Mike confronted Orson Hodge, and fought with him. During this fight, Orson attempted to evade Mike and fell off the hospital roof. The police have to release Mike when they find Alma and Monique's teeth and suicide note. Mike witnesses Ian propose to Susan and is saddened when she accepts.Later Mike learns that Ian had seen the engagement ring, with which Mike was going to propose to Susan, the night he got hit by a car and says to Ian he knows Ian only proposed to Susan so early because Susan may learn the truth. They make a deal where if Mike wins the poker game they are playing Ian will allow Mike to tell Susan anything but if Ian wins Mike cannot say anything to Susan and he is to leave them alone. Ian wins and Mike cannot tell Susan anything.Nevertheless, despite his loss, Mike's feelings for Susan continue to grow. He is constantly seen as a threat by Ian, especially after Mike saves him from their car, which was overturned in a lake. After a heated argument between Ian and Susan, she walks over to Mike's for consolation, and they share an intimate kiss. This renews Mike's belief in the possibility of winning her back, and so he continually forces his way into her and Ian's lives, even confessing to what occurred at the poker game. After learning about this, Susan sends both of them away and cancels her wedding with Ian.Ian and Mike continued to pursue Susan, but were shot down with each attempt. Eventually, Susan announced that she would go through with her marriage to Ian and she explained to Mike her reasonings for this. Upset by this, Mike left a Dear John Letter on her voicemail saying goodbye. Under the cover of the night he left Wisteria Lane and Susan (who had been dumped by Ian because of her continued love of Mike) behind.Mike is on a camping trip, so Susan goes to the woods to find him. She and her wilderness guide, Toni, get lost in the woods. Susan complains to Toni about her complicated love life, and Toni yells at Susan and tells her that she doesn't think Susan can handle a permanent relationship because she invites in too much drama. Susan decides to sneak off while Toni is sleeping and try to find Mike on her own. Back at the campground, the one hiker is reported lost, and Mike recognizes Susan from her description. Susan leaves a message on Mike's cell phone promising him that if he takes her back that she will not make their relationship dramatic and they will be a normal couple. In the morning, Mike finds Susan and picks her up and they kiss.Mike and Susan go out to dinner, the night exactly a year after he and Susan were meant to get engaged and Mike got ran over. Susan waits for Mike to pop the question all night, but Susans disappointed when he doesn't. On the way home, Susan tells Mike what she expected and when they pull up into Wisteria Lane the trailer Susan decorated on the night they intended to get engaged was waiting on her driveway. They live the experience they were meant to have that night and they get engaged.Mike later marries Susan in the woods in the middle of the night. Susan surprises him with a small wedding because she doesn't want to put pressure on Mike to give her an expensive wedding.Him and Susan are currently expecting a baby next year.During Susan's pregnancy she discovers that Mike has been taking pain medication that he was prescribed after he was hit by Orson. Mike became addicted to the medication and Susan made him get rid of all of them but behind her back he found a new drug dealer who sell him some more. She later finds out about them and her and Mike get into an argument and he grabs her arm trying to stop her from leaving. She falls down the stairs they rush to the emergency to make sure she and the baby are alright. Mike gets angry and starts a fight with security at the hospital because they have not came to check his wife yet. He is handcuffed to a chair. Susan tells him that if he does not give up his addiction and go into rehab she will take their baby and leave him. He agrees because he does not want to lose his wife and child.Later on Mike and Susan have a little baby boy who at first they cannot decide on a name for that little boy. They heard over the intercom the name Conner. They both liked that name so they settled on naming him Conner. That day Mike talked to his father who is in prison for murder and found out that his grandfather Maynard. Before hearing the name Susan agrees. After Mike tells her his grandfathers name she realizes she hates it. When Mike was away she went to try to change the baby's name back to Conner. The nurse told her that she needed the fathers consent as well. That nurse left and Susan persuaded the new nurse to change the baby's name. As they were being discharged from the hospital Mike found out that his son's name was no longer Maynard that it was Conner. He got really upset with Susan and told her why he wanted to honor his grandfather and that was because he was practically raised by him. After hearing that story she wants to change the baby's name back. They named him Maynard James Delfino after both of Mike's grandfathers. They settle on just calling him MJ though.Mike and Susan were going out for their anniversary. When there is another SUV on the road with them who ran a stop sign because the driver did not see it. Susan tried to swerve but hit the car anyways the vehicle with her and Mike flipped over and landed upside down. Susan crawled out of her car looking for Mike he was ok. But they other two people they collided with were not. They were both killed. When police arrived Susan couldn't finer her license so Mike lied and said he was driving he did not get convicted because it was an accident.(THE FIVE YEAR JUMP)Sometime during that five year period Mike and Susan argued a lot over the accident because Mike didn't feel as guilty. They ended up getting a divorce. Mike then moved into an apartment across town. He and Susan shared custody of MJ. Edie Britt moved back on to wisteria lane with her new husband who everyone thoughts name was Dave Williams. His name was really David Dash. He was formerly in a mental institute. But nobody knew that either. Susan began dating a man named Jackson. Mike at first didn't care for Jackson being around his son. But he told Susan that he wanted to get to know Jackson if he was going to be around his son all the time. Mike began receiving letters from his mother telling him that he had an autistic sister named Laura that he never knew about that she and his father gave up because she was too hard to handle. Mike then started to go see his sister and was sending weekly checks to the place that took care of her. Mike and Jackson then became friends and he would pass off tips to make learn how to make Susan happy. She finds out and gets upset and tells Jackson to break off his friendship from Mike. Mike buys his son a bike and promises to teach him how to ride it another time. MJ don't want to wait so he asks Jackson. Jackson not knowing Mike wanted to teach him teaches MJ how to ride the bike. Susan tells MJ to pretend he doesn't know how when Mike gets there so his feelings are not hurt. MJ agrees and ends up falling off and hurting his arm. Mike finds out Susan made MJ pretend not to know how to ride the bike. He gets mad and upset that he is missing out on time with is son.He and Dave become closer friends Dave tries to get Mike to get in the band with him and Tom, Carlos, and Orson. Mike declines saying he is too busy and all of his free time goes to MJ. Dave then decides to buy a house across from Susan and rents it to Mike secretly. Mike doesn't know who the landlords are. Mike and Dave get to be closer friends and Mike joins the band. Dave gets them a gig at a bar. Where he starts a fire because he had just killed his shrink in the storage closet. He locked Jackson in the bathroom. When everyone gets out but a few Susan tells Mike to go find Jackson he does and finds out Jackson escaped out the window. Mike collapsed from smoke inhalation. Dave rushes back in to save Mike. Mike had secretly been dating Katherine for a while. Susan later realizes that they were dating after she realizes who baked Mike cookies while he was in the hospital. She was upset. He and Katherine then decided to spend time with MJ together. MJ didn't like his dad dating her so he would pull pranks on her because he thinks she is standing in the way of his parents getting back together. Dave decided to decided to get his revenge on Mike. Dave later moved in with Mike for a while when Edie kicked him out. Dave told Mike that he know Mike was falling in love with Katherine after Katherine told Mike that she might be moving to be closer to her daughter and grandchild. Mike gave Katherine flowers that said don't go. Susan wants to put MJ in private school and looks to Mike to pay for it but he told her he was having financial trouble. She didn't believe him because she thought he bought Katherine real pearls. She apologized and got a job of her own to help pay for the school. Mike and Katherine end up moving in together. Dave took Mike and Katherine out camping where he planned on killing Katherine because Mike took his family away. He attempted to shoot Katherine but missed and pretended it wasn't him. They returned home.Dave was still planning his revenge. Edie found out about Lila and Paige Dash and that Dave was planning revenge against Mike. She and Dave go into a fight she left speeding in her car trying to warn mike and hit a telephone pole and died from electrocution. Mike goes to Susan and asks her to talk to a depressed Dave. She revels to Dave that she was the one driving the car when his family was killed. She still didn't know that those people were his wife and daughter though. He changes his plans and is now planning on killing MJ. Katherine pays MJ to ask his dad if he was going to marry Katherine. Susan finds out that her boyfriend Jackson is about to be deported back to Canada. She tells him they should get married so he can get a green card. They go tell Mike. Mike is happy for them and realizes that he won't have to pay alimony anymore. He proposes to Katherine after. Susan don'y think she can go through with the wedding since she won't be getting alimony from Mike anymore. She tells Katherine. Katherine secretly texts Susan pretending to be Mike agreeing to keep paying. Susan tells Dave that she and MJ won't be able to go on his fishing trip because she and Jackson are getting married. Dave gets mad and calls immigration to have Jackson deported.Susan and MJ are able to go on the fishing trip with Dave again. Mike and Katherine decide to fly to Vegas to get married. Dave makes a tape and gives it to Mike and tells him not to watch it until after he gets back. Mike puts the tape in a drawer. Then later grabs it by mistake when they leave for the airport. While waiting for their flight Mike hears something in Katherine's bag talking after she goes to get coffee. He takes it out and watches it. It's the video Dave gave him talking about that he didn't want to kill MJ but why he had to. He immediately leaves the airport. Leaving Katherine to believe he got cold feet. Mike called Susan and tells her not to react and tells her who Dave really is and what he is planning and to try and get away. Mike tries finding them. They stop for MJ to use the bathroom. Susan and MJ both run and Dave realizes Susan knows. He takes them to the spot where his family was killed. He tied Susan's hands and secures her. He planned that when Mike came hurling down the road to drive out in front of him with MJ in the car so Mike hits them and kills MJ. Susan sees Mike's truck coming she frees herself and tries to warn him but he hits the SUV. Susan scream and cries for MJ and he comes walking up not knowing whats going on. Dave made MJ get out of the car before it happened because he kept seeing his deceased daughter in the mirror. Susan is happy and they check Mike. He was ok. Mike kisses Susan. Then a few months later They remarry.Mike apologizes to Katherine. But she starts becoming obsessed and wants to get revenge. On their wedding day Katherine storms in and demands a public apology out of Susan. Susan apologizes but it's not good enough for Katherine. The day after their wedding Mike and Susan find out his step daughter Julie was attacked and left for dead. Katherine believes that she still has a chance with Mike. Katherine calls Mike over as a plumber and has plans to seduce him. Susan catches her and Katherine's plan fails. They have a neighborhood watch and Katherine joins walking around the Delfino house Susan and Julie get frightened and Susan accidently shoots Katherine not knowing it was her. Thinking it was the attacker. Susan is later arrested then released. Katherine and MJ get to talking and she tells him he has a bad mom. Mike finds out and confronts her. When he leaves Katherine is upset and calls and ambulance saying she is losing alot of blood and she stabs herself. She tries blaming Mike. Mike is arrested and later released because Katherine has a mental breakdown and reveals the truth. Then put in a mental hospital.Mike is in a lot of debt but refuses to allow Susan to help him get out of debt. He says he has to do it on his own. The debt get's so bad that a man comes out to reposess his truck. Susan wants to help Mike out but he refuses to take Karl's money that he left to Susan after his death which actually came from the strip club he left her and she sold. She ends up getting the truck back for him anyways against his wishes. He later goes to Carlos to borrow fifty grand. That still didn't get him out of debt completely. They realized they needed to move and rent their home.They moved to an apartment across town. Rented their home to a man but didn't know who. They later found out it was Paul Young. The man they all hated. Susan decides to start selling homemade jewelry to make money. He tells Susan that he could go work on an oil rig in Alaska for three months but she don't want him to. She was offered a job by her landlord doing cleaning in lingerie. She denied at first then later accepts the offer. Mike cant figure out where all the extra cash is coming from she lies and says it's from her jewelry. Later Susan see's a huge sign promoting the website she works for with her on it. She has to pay her boss nine grand not to put it up. Mike cant figure out where the money went. Paul finds out and tries to blackmail Susan into selling her house to him or he is going to tell Mike about what she is doing. Out of guilt she tells Mike what is going on and about Paul. She got fired from the website for shutting down a personal viewing. She tells Mike about the website and about Paul blackmailing her. He wants to go kill Paul. She stops him and goes to confront Paul herself. Paul gets angry and tells a mother at the school she works at and Susan is fired. Mike tells her he is taking the job in Alaska, she tried to stop him but he said she doesn't get to make decisions anymore he does.He leaves for Alaska. While he is gone there is a riot on the lane and Susan is trampled and she had to have a kidney removed and the other is deformed and needs a transplant. Mike comes home. All of her family members are unable to donate and she has to go on dialysis. Later she takes a turn for the worse. But they later get good news when Paul's wife donates a kidney to her before she killed herself. A while later Mike and Susan have saved up enough money and are financial stable enough to move back to their home. They have to just try to talk Paul into moving back out of their home. They later return back to their home.Mike realizes that Susan has been acting really strange and wasn't out talking with her friends like usual. Mike meets his new neighbor Ben when he needs some plumbing work done. Ben tells Mike that he is going to need a plumber for his real estate project and he is considering Mike. Ben visits Mike and tells him that he knows about his past and that he killed a cop. Mike thought it was a deal breaker but it turned out to be the opposite. Ben wanted an honorable person like him to be his employee. Mike see's Susan and Carlos out at midnight in talking he believes that they are having an affair. He later tells Susan that someone called for her about her assaulting a police officer and that they called him Mr. Solis. She tells him that's because Carlos picked her up from the station. She still can't tell Mike why her and Carlos have been spending so much time together. Later her and Carlos decide to tell Mike about Carlos killing Gaby's Stepfather and all the girls covering it up he gets angry and leaves.Susan tells Mike to take all the time he needs to process the information. Then tells him she is taking an art class taught by a famous artist to help her calm down and relieve stress. Mike tells Carlos to leave Susan alone when he comes looking for someone to talk to. Ben finds out about the murder because it is in his constructions zone and he agrees to cover it up. He asks mike to bury the body under a spot where they are about to put concrete thinking nobody would ever find it. Mike finds his new boss Ben dealing with a loan shark because Ben is losing a lot of money. Mike tells the loan shark to leave and confronts Ben. The loan shark begins calling Mike The Tough Guy .Later Mike goes to the construction site and sees someone there causing things to explode he chases the guy down and it turns out to be Ben who reveals that he needs to do that to collect the insurance check. He then takes Ben to the hospital because he was having chest pains caused by stress. Mike tells Renee (Ben's Girlfriend) about him being in the hospital she visits him and then pays off his loan sharks against Ben's wishes. Mike talks to Renee on the phone while she is in the hospital with Ben and he sees the lights in her house turn on. He goes to check it out it and it was Donny the loan shark busting up her possessions. He tells Donny to leave. Donny pretend to be leaving an punches Mike in the face. Mike hits him back a few times and then throws him out and says he never wants to see him again. Donny tells him that he should have killed him then.A paranoid Mike keeps looking out the window and now has a gun waiting for the loan shark to come back. Susan finds the gun in his pocket and they go to the police for protection. The police say they could have protected them if they would have called when the loan shark was in Renee's house. Now they have to wait until something else happens. Mike and Susan are sitting outside talking and getting ready to do inside when a black car pulls up. A man screams Delfino Mike sees the gun pushes Susan inside. Donny shoots and hits Mike right in the chest. The car drives off. Mike hits the ground bleeding and Susan was holding him in her arms when he laid there and died. Show less «
