Her friend, Phyllis, invites her to go into the city for a concert, but when they arrive the worst thing happens. They meet a young man, Junior, who tells them he can get weed for the. They follow him to a run-down apartment where his derange family waits. Mari and Phyllis soon want to leave, but Krug and the others restrain them. The next morning, after both girl were beaten and Phyllis was raped, the maniacs take them out of town. Their car breaks down right near Maris house, but she does not let on she lives nearby. Probably because she does not want to put her parents in any danger. Krug and his gang make Mari and her friend do disturbing sexual acts to humiliate one another. At a certain point, Phyllis gets away and almost makes it to a main high way when Krugs girlfriend and brother kill her. Krug then shows Mari Phyllis severed hand and rapes her. After carving his name into Maris chest, Krug get off of her. She walks down to the lake, were Krug then shoots here in the head. Later on, her dead body is found by her parents and they bring her inside and wrap her up in a blanket.---------------------------------------------------------------------------In The Remake Mari is a seventeen year old girl who is trying to come to terms with the loss of her older brother a few years back. Mari is also skilled swimmer and loves the water. Her and her parents head out to their summer home for a vacation. Paige, Maris friend who lives in the area, wants to have some fun and goto a party or such. They meet Justin, a teenage boy who tells them he has some great pot back at his motel room. They decide to go back to his hotel room and light up a joint. The only problem is that his father, Krug, is a recently escaped prisoner and on the run with his girlfriend and brother. The family comes back and soon begins to scare the girls. Mari tells Krug that whatever is going on has nothing to do with them and they will leave. But Krug can not trust them and locks Mari up in the bathroom while him and his brother have their way with Paige. The next morning, the group of wanted criminals take the girls for a ride in the country. The car breaks down close to Maris house, but she does not let on just in case. They take the girls into the woods and Krug rapes Mari. Paige gets away and is right near a construction plant, but Saddie and Francis killer her before she cant get any attention. Mari gets away also and jumps into the lake to swim away. Krug shoots her in the back and leaves her for dead in the water.Mari later on gets the strength to make her way back to her parents house. The only thing though is that Krug and the others are in the guest house. Her parents kill Francis when he comes into their house for something and finds Mari still alive. Maris father is a well-trained surgeon and fixes her wound up. Justin turns out to be on their side and helps save them from his evil father. After a tremendously rage-fulled battle for survival between her parents and the sadistic criminals, Mari gets away with Justin and her parents on a boat to the other side of the lake. Show less «
