Estelle Collingwood (renamed Emma in the remake) is a character in the 1972 horror movie, The Last House on the Left. She is portrayed by Cynthia Carr. In the film, she is the over protective, and somewhat prudish mother of Mari Collingwood. She and Mari have minor altercations before Mari leaves for the concert, and shows distrust for Phyllis. She is shown with her husband John (Gaylord St. James) preparing for Mari's party, and is worried when her daughter doesn't return home. Estelle is the first one to meet her daughter's killers, and in the original is portrayed as the stronger willed of the two parents. During dinner, she comforts a sickened Junior, only to find Mari's peace necklace. She later overhears Junior (Marc Shuffler) and Krug (David A. Hess) discussing Mari's killing, and goes through their bags to find their clothes, which are stained with her dead daughter's blood. She and John run to the lake to find Mari's corpse, and decide to take vengeance on her assailants. Estelle finds Weasel, and convinces him to take her with his hands behind his back. She binds his hands and prepares to preform fellatio on him, but de-mans him as he reaches climax, by biting off and spitting out his penis. Weasel bleeds to death. She also murders Sadie by cutting her throat, as John murders Krug, and the two come back inside, just as the police arrive and see the carnage.
