Laurie Forman is the older sister of Eric Forman, and do not have a loving relationship and, at least early in the show's run, Eric's circle of friends do not have much respect for her either, even though all of Eric's male friends are sexually attracted to Laurie.. Laurie is presented as a promiscuous young woman who eventually sported a Farrah Fawcett hairstyle. When the show began, Laurie was away from home, attending college, but it is soon revealed that she flunked out due to too much partying. Upon moving back into her parents' house, Laurie started a relationship with Michael Kelso, who was in a committed relationship with Jackie Burkhart at the time. Everyone knew about Laurie and Kelso's flings - except for Jackie. Even though Kelso tried in vain to break off his affair with Laurie, she was able to keep Kelso as her boy toy by threatening to reveal the affair to Jackie. Once Jackie inevitably found out, Jackie broke up with Kelso, and Jackie and Laurie began a superficial friendship based around girly interests like hair and clothes.Freed from Jackie, Kelso decided to pursue a serious relationship with Laurie. Kelso began to develop real feelings for Laurie, but in the end she was not interested in Kelso beyond their physical connection, and cheated on Kelso with various other men. When Kelso saw one of these men walking out of Laurie's bedroom, he brokenheartedly ended the relationship for good. After moving to Chicago for a couple of years, Laurie returned home to Point Place, Wisconsin, and made a serious attempt to get closer to her parents and Eric. This culminated in a camping trip with her family and Eric's friends that seemed to go a long way toward repairing past damages. But when Laurie agreed to marry Fez to keep him from being deported, her father, Red Forman, had a heart attack during the camping trip. Once Red recovered, he and Laurie's mother, Kitty Forman, reluctantly agreed to accept her marriage to Fez, hoping that it was a sign that Laurie was maturing. But Laurie was unable to consummate her marriage to Fez, and the marriage is eventually annulled.Free once again, Laurie resumes her wayward life, with the Formans only occasionally getting updates on her whereabouts, which included a stint in Canada for a while.
