Ulysses Klaw is a human physicist in the universe of Marvel Comics. While trying to create a sonic device, he realized he needed the rare mineral vibranium, so he traveled to the only place where the mineral, carried to Earth on meteors, is found - the African nation of Wakanda. There he slew the Black Panther (T'Chaka) the nation's protector, and stole a quantity of the mineral. T'Chaka's son T'Challa tried to stop Klaw's escape, maiming him (Klaw lost his right hand during this battle).Years later, Klaw resurfaces, having mastered the ability to create solid constructs from sound, using a prosthetic device that replaced his missing right hand. He eventually also develops a means of transforming himself into solid sound, which confers certain advantages but also comes with certain disadvantages. In addition, Klaw is an expert physicist with a narrow scope: acoustics and sound. There is very little he does not know about the generation, manipulation and control of sound.Over the years, Klaw has come into repeated conflict with T'Challa, in his role as the Black Panther (successor to the original and also his nation's protector). He has found the Fantastic Four, and has been a member of the Masters of Evil, fighting various Avengers in that role. As one of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's earlier creations, he has fought most of the heroes of Marvel at one time or another, singly and as a member of various evil groups.
