Karl Ruprecht Kroenen is the main villain in Hell Boy. He is an evil Nazi scientist that was Hitler's main assassin and also serves Rasputin very loyaly. Bring born in 1897, It is explained in the movie that he is so old that he is only dust under his suit and stays alive with a complex mechanical internal system that he can crank up himself with a wind-up key implanted in his chest. This system also explains how he has incredible speed during his fights. He could also t switch off his body (literally), remaining in a dormant state and appearing dead, until he was reanimated. He is intended to be mysterious and you briefly see him without his gas mask. In his youth he operated and himself doing bizarre and self mutilation. His mouth has no lips and he eyes are freakishly not human looking. He primary weapon is personalized swords with a handle that he can maneuver fast enough to stop and re-direct bullets, killing his unsuspecting foes quickly.He is only featured in the 1st installment, but you can briefly see his mask in the sequel at the BPRD Headquarters. There were plan to have him come back to life at the end of Hellboy 2, but the scene and ending were cut for budgetary reasons. If there ever is a Hell Boy 3, he is most likely going to be in it.
