Jackson Two-Bears (lived in late 1800's) was a Native American who straddled the white man's and the reservation's worlds. He was not a Hebrew, though his employer, Frank Ballou, insisted he was.He was the only ranch hand left on what had once been a prosperous ranch, and became the close friend, confidant and dance partner of Frank's daughter, Catherine Cat Ballou. Upon Frank's death, Jackson became a member of Cat's gang of train robbers and invoked his rights as given by the Fourteenth Amendment. He had unfailing faith in the former gun-fighter Kid Shelleen, and served as his squire when the gun-fighter prepared himself to face his greatest foe.Jackson assisted in the rescue of Cat from the gallows and escaped with her and the rest of her gang.
