HELEN WAVERLEY KIMBLE (Diane Brewster, Sela Ward, Kelly Rutherford) is the name of three unfortunate doctors' wives who each died from an act of murder in her home, after a one-armed bandit invaded that home. In one case, said one-armed man was a drifter. In another, he was a hired assassin. Juries convicted all three husbands (named Richard Kimble, M.D.) of murder. And each husband somehow escaped his prisoner transport and spent an interval of time, varying from weeks to as long as four years, hunting down his particular one-armed man, seeking to bring said one-armed man to justice and clear his own name.
