ANNE EASTMAN, M.D. (Julianne Moore), in The Fugitive , encountered the Fugitive Richard Kimble, M.D. during a stint covering the Emergency Room at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Ill., as senior surgical resident. Of course when she first saw a janitor standing around, she had no idea who he really was. She simply pressed him into service to help move some patients to cope with a flood of casualties from a major highway accident. She left him moving a small boy to an observation ward.But she learned later the boy did not go to Observation. Instead he went to the OR and had his chest cracked! And it was well this happened: the surgeons found a serious internal bleed they were able to close.
