According to Garland, working at an office fifty hours a week until retiring, and ending up in a retirement village hoping to die before they can no longer make it to the toilet on time, is real insanity. He killed 30 people before being captured, and was serving consecutive life sentences. He boasted to have driven through 3 states wearing a girls head as a hat. During the events of the film, he befriended a little girl, and kept a doll she gave him. When the plane was being shot at, he started singing He's Got The Whole World In His Hands , a song that she had taught him. At the end of the film, he escaped into Las Vegas, and was seen gambling at a casino.
