Wu was the chief geneticist in Jurassic Park and head of the team that created the dinosaurs. In the film he reveals that all the dinosaurs on the island are female. In the novel, Wu has a much larger part; he proposes genetically altering further saurian creations to make them more manageable, something that Hammond opposes. In the novel, he and the other survivors are holed up in the lodge while Ellie is making a distraction for the raptors so they won't attack Grant, who is trying to restore the park's power. However, two raptors already inside the compound which the survivors had kept in sight suddenly disappear, so Wu goes out to warn Ellie that they are on the move. As he does, one of the same raptors jumps down from the roof and tears him open and eats him while he is still alive (the attack was so sudden that Wu tried to push the raptor's mouth away from him without noticing his intestines have spilled out of him). In the film he left the island on the last boat to the mainland before the power failure. In the film Wu was portrayed by B.D. Wong. Wu is indirectly mentioned in The Lost World novel, when Ian Malcolm discovers old forgotten InGen documents addressed to Dr. Henry Wu, which are scattered throughout the abandoned manufacturing plant on Isla Sorna. It is confirmed that Wong will return for Jurassic Park IV.
