Diego is the one African American character in Rosemary's Baby. He is the elevator operator for the Bram. We first see him in the opening scene when Mr Nicklas is showing the apartment to Guy and Rosemary, as they get on the elevator. He also appears in the dream/drugged out sequence where Rosemary, under the influence of some hallucinogenic drug, dreams that she is on a boat of some sort and he is the sailor. He advises her You better go down below Miss. Rosemary takes his advice, walking naked she takes the steps down to below which takes her to the inside of the Castevette's Livingroom where the rape ceremony is to take place. Show less «
