DAVID MCFLY (Marc McLure), in the Back to the Future franchise, is the older brother of American Top Forty bandleader Marty McFly, and the son of successful pulp science-fiction novelist George McFly and his wife Lorraine. Contents [hideshow] 1.1. Timeline 1: Burger Flipper 1.2. Timeline 2: Junior Executive 1.3. Timeline 3: On Probation 1.4. Timeline 4: Business Manager Timeline 1: Burger Flipper In this timeline, his father is not successful, because his father has never stood up for himself. He never went to college, and he holds down a night job at the Burger King next to the home of impoverished and eccentric inventor Emmett L. Doc Brown.Timeline 2: Junior Executive In this second timeline, his father, having enjoyed a measure of success as a novelist, has encouraged him to apply for himself. So instead of flipping hamburgers, he wears a business suit and holds down a respectable job in a company office. He even occasionally goes in on Saturdays.Timeline 3: On ProbationDavid McFly, in the horrific Hell Valley timeline, is a criminal like his Uncle Joey. He is on probation, but Biff threatens to revoke it if Lorraine dares leave him.Timeline 4: Business Manager For David, this timeline began much as Timeline 2 did. But in Timeline 2, Marty ruined himself by getting involved in a drag race on the street, and ramming a Rolls Royce broadside. Not so in TImeline 4. This time Marty became a successful American Top Forty artist. And Marty hired his older brother to be his business manager.
