Commander Anderson is the squad commander and team leader of the US. Navy SEAL team, in which the pentagon and FBI had sent in to retake the island of Alcatraz, which has been seized by U.S Force Recon Marines led by Brigadier general Frank Hummel. Knowing they could not approach the Rock by surface the SEALS, alongside FBI's top Chemist Stanley Goodspeed and Ex Con John Mason, successfully infiltrate the island through the underground tunnels. However, the SEALS trigger a motion sensor and are ambushed by the marines from an elevated position. Hummel requests that the SEALS drop there weapons and surrender. Anderson tells the soldiers they are under oath as United States Marines and are sworn to protect there country. Hummel again commands the SEALS to drop there weapons. Anderson refuses to give up this order. Marine Captains Frye and Darrow start a gunfight, in which being in an elevated area, Anderson and his team are killed, leaving only Goodspeed and Mason alive.
