Christine Spike Nelson is a member of the Degrassi class of 1992 and is now married to Archie Snake Simpson, a fellow graduate and eventual principal of Degrassi.Spike had a difficult time in school, becoming pregnant by her then-boyfriend Shane McKay when she was just 14 years old. When some parents became concerned about the example she was setting, they petitioned the school to force Spike to be removed from campus. She was allowed to attend the end of year dance, where she went into labor. She raised Emma Nelson essentially by herself and Emma now attends Degrassi.She was best friends with Liz O'Rourke, Joey Jeremiah, Erica and Heather Farrell, Tessa Campanelli, and Derek Wheeler.Background: She is now a hairdresser. She played flute in the school band. She has a son with Archie named Jack Simpson.She got her nickname from the hairstyle she wore in high school, which included hair sprayed up six inches.
