Archie Snake Simpson is a Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High graduate from the 1980s who returns as a teacher, and later principal. As a student, he earned a reputation for being rebellious and always up for a good time. As a principal he has an open, friendly way with students, but demands they treat each other respectfully. He often doles out advice.Background: He plays guitar and was in a band called Zit Remedy. In school he also excelled in swimming and basketball. He was a good student despite not having a strong work ethic. As a high school student, he went through a lot of trying experiences, including finding the body of his friend Claude Tanner after his suicide, and another friend killing someone in a drunk driving accident. His older brother Glen Simpson is gay and Archie eventually becomes supportive of the LGBT community. He marries Christine Spike Nelson and becomes step-father to her daughter, Emma Nelson. They later have a son, Jack Simpson. He is godfather to Connor DeLaurier. His best friend as an adult is Joey Jeremiah.
