This character is based on a real woman. Christine works as a phone operator supervisor who comes home one day to find her son missing. She searches for him first but after calling the police straight away and told that she must wait 24 hours. When the police finally take her details and begin to search for him it takes 5 months till news reaches her. She is reunited with her son by the train station but immediately knows that this boy is not her son. She tries to tell the authorities this but is labeled as an incompetent mother who is trying to shirk her responsibility. After weeks of trying to get evidence that he is not her son and telling the police this she is escorted to the police precinct and detained under the designation Code 12 to a mental institution. She refuses to give in to signing a form stating that She certifies that she is wrong about saying that the boy returned to her by the police is not her son. It further stipulates that the police were right to send her to the mental institution and absolves them of all responsibility. Her will is strong to find her son and she is released later on. She takes legal action against the system and as a result all women held under designation Code 12 in mental institutions are released. She battles long and hard until her voice is heard. It is with her long fight that many of the corrupt men in the legal system that persecuted her are demoted and also stripped of their jobs. Show less «
