Carl Bruner is a friend of Sam and Molly Wheat. Carl works with Sam in banking. Unbeknownst to Sam, Carl has stolen millions of dollars from the company and has it hidden in an account.Carl observes Sam, while at work on his computer, discovering it as an error in accounting. Not knowing what the error is, or Carl's involvement, Sam takes and writes down necessary information in a address book. Now frightened of being found out, Carl hires a street thug to steal the address book from Sam. Sam dies as a result of the thug trying to rob him of the book. After the funeral Carl sticks close to Molly; playing the grieving supportive friend; while trying to find out what Molly may know, where the address book is and maybe even score with her. Yes; it is what Carl doesn't have and what he doesn't know that will be his undoing; for Sam remains as a ghost - to protect Molly. All too late, Carl learns there are 2 paths one can go by in life, and most certainly, a final destination..... also he dies in the end with shadows pulling him into Hell.
