August March is a convicted smuggler of Asian art sent to prison by Steve McGarrett in the 1975 episode Wooden Model of a Rat of the original Hawaii Five-O series. The character, newly released from prison after 30 years, appears in the 2012 episode Kalele of the updated Hawaii Five-0 series. In the 2012 episode, March initially appears as a gentle old ex-con who has learned his lesson, but in the end shows his true colors by making off with a trove of blood diamonds after murdering a woman who contacted him about fencing the gems.Ed Asner portrays August March in both episodes.
