Ashley is a fictional little girl in the Sinister film franchise. She is the only daughter of Ellison and Tracy Oswalt and the youngest child in the Oswalt family. Ashley is a prodigy artist whose parents reluctantly permit her to paint on her bedroom walls, providing that she doesn't bring paint anywhere else in the house.Ashley moves into a house in a small rural town in Pennsylvania where in 2011, a horrible multiple murder took place. She becomes possessed by the demonic killer Bughuul, and she also attracts an imaginary friend called Stephanie (who happens to be the ghoul of a child who previously lived in the home and was abducted). Ashley is persuaded to murder her whole family, filming herself killing them on super 8 film. She then walks away with Bughuul into his realm of film and images.In Sinister 2, Ashley has a very brief reoccurring role but her snuff reel isn't shown.
