Official ProfileBest Line: My name is Alice and this is my world.Alice is the main protagonist of the Resident Evil movies. Alice is also known as Janus Prospero, Alice Parks, and Alice Abernathy. Alice is portrayed by Milla Jovovich.Gender: Female Height: 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) Race/Ethnicity: Caucasian Occupation: Security Covert Operative (Formerly) Status: Alive Portrayer: Milla JovovichBackground: Alice is an Umbrella security covert operative (head of security at The Hive in Raccoon City) placed at the mansion to protect the Hive's emergency entrance. Alice's cover is her faked marriage to Spence Parks. Their marriage is revealed to be a fake, in order to cover the operation's secrecy. The Hive: In the 2002 film Resident Evil, Alice suffers from amnesia which was caused by a nerve gas that causes temporary unconsciousness and temporary amnesia released in the mansion by the Red Queen after a viral outbreak inside The Hive. Little by little, throughout the film, she recovers her memory. However, One (aka James Spade played by Colin Salmon) fills her in on her true identity when they reach the Hive. One informs Alice that her memory loss was caused when a nerve gas was released into the house by its primary defenses which were activated by the Red Queen.Through the film Alice has flashbacks, and as her memory returns, she meets certain milestones within the Hive's laboratories, and when she first meets with Spence (who is also suffering the same side effects as her, but later only pretends amnesia). Though working for Umbrella, it's revealed she was planning to work with an undercover reporter working inside The Hive in order to expose Umbrella's illegal biological/viral experiments and bring the company down. After full restoration of her memories, she tells Matt that she was Matt's sister's (Lisa Addison, the undercover reporter) contact within the Hive, who was trying to smuggle out proof of the illegal experimentation to release to the press and expose Umbrella. (Lisa is turned into a zombie by the release of the T-virus, and later killed by Alice when she attacks her brother, Matt.)Alice, as head of security for The Hive, had access to security codes, surveillance plans, the works. Her plans were later foiled by Spence Parks who had his own personal agenda to retrieve the T-virus and sell it on the Black market. After the outbreak in the underground lab, Alice and Matt Addison were the only survivors of the incident, upon arrival back at the mansion both were seized by Umbrella scientists and taken into quarantine at Raccoon General Hospital.Raccoon City:In the 2004 film Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Alice discovers that she has been genetically altered by exposure to the t-virus, and has no memory as to what happened to her. During the viral outbreak in Raccoon City, Alice is released by Major Cain to combat their latest bio-weapon Nemesis. After exiting the hospital, Alice becomes aware that the t-virus had escaped The Hive and is now spread into the civil population of Raccoon City. After wandering around the city, Alice begins receiving flashbacks that reveal during her quarantine session she was injected with a strain of the t-virus. After learning of her new abilities, Alice senses several survivors Jill Valentine, Peyton Wells, and Terri Morales are in trouble with a heavy presence of the t-virus surrounding their location.Alice's abilities have made her aware of other organisms infected with the t-virus. After saving the survivors, Jill Valentine demands an explanation on how Alice knew they were inside the church. Alice explains her knowledge regarding the events leading into the outbreak at Raccoon City. After receiving a phone call from Dr. Ashford, the survivors make a deal to rescue his daughter Angela Ashford in exchange for a safe route out of the city.Alice, Jill, and the others locate Angela at her school. They searched every part of the school to find Angela, only for Terri to be killed in the process. Jill finds Angela and the two escape, only to be attacked by two Cerberus. Jill tries to kill the cerberus by exploding the school kitchen, which failed when her lighter lit off. However, Alice blew up the kitchen with a cigarette and killed the two cerberus and saved Jill and Angela. The three then meet Carlos Oliveira, who was also looking for Angela as well. When told to meet at City Hall, Major Cain intervenes Dr. Ashford's plan and orders the immediate activation of their Nemesis program. When Alice is encountered by Major Cain, he explains that Alice was unique and adaptated the changes from the t-virus quite well; unlike Nemesis, Alice's merged human characteristics and superhuman strength into one and creating a new bioweapon. After being ordered to fight Nemesis, Alice refused until Major Cain shot Dr. Ashford and threatened to kill everyone else (Jill, Carlos, L.J. and Angela). She fights Nemesis, and after impaling him on a sharp metal object she remembers that it is Matt, who Umbrella changed into Nemesis. After refusing to finish off Nemesis/Matt Major Cain orders Nemesis/Matt to kill her.Death: When Major Timothy Cain orders Nemesis to begin firing at Alice, He recognizes Alice and fires at Umbrella's agents. A nuclear strike, ordered earlier by Major Cain onto the city giving efficient time for staff to evacuate. In the explosion, Alice is impaled by a loose pole when protecting Angela Ashford, whilst fleeing in a helicopter. She is retrieved, alone, although her body has been moved out of the helicopter and is moved by scientists, lead by Dr. Isaacs, 2 hours later into the Arklay Mountains.Rebirth: 3 weeks after the outbreak in Raccoon City, Alice wakes up in a water tank with no memory of the outbreak. It is revealed that Dr. Sam Isaacs reanimated Alice with a new strain of the t-virus giving her telekinetic abilities, eventually making her the first ghost operative in human history. When asked about her name or any indication of the incident, Alice's memory returns and she responds, My name is Alice. And I remember everything, . She escapes out of the facility revealing her new powers. When exiting the facility, Alice is confronted by Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira. During their departure, Dr. Isaacs orders the security guards to let them go. As they depart Dr. Isaacs orders the activation of Project AliceExtinction: After escaping the laboratory in Detroit, Alice leaves the group, realizing that she was a threat to her companions, and set out across the deserted American landscape.Five years later (between September and October 2007), she responded to a call for help from an abandoned radio station, only to be captured by a group of psychopaths and forced to fight Cerberuses for their amusement. She outwitted her captors and left them to their fates, being ripped apart by the Cerberuses. All the while, her psionic powers were growing, which proved to be a risk, as Umbrella could detect the effects of those powers and track her. They proved useful, however when she came across the convoy led by Claire Redfield, and used her powers to expand a cloud of fire to wipe out a swarm of infected crows and save Carlos and another member of the convoy from being burnt alive, after which she passed out and awoke a few hours later.Alice informed the surviving convoy members, Carlos and LJ among them, of a supposedly uninfected outpost in Alaska, and it was agreed that the convoy would head there after scouring the ruins of Las Vegas for supplies. It was there than Sam Isaacs set a trap for her, with a shipping crate full of specially enhanced zombies. Using a signal to deactivate her (eventually activating her implanted neural dampener) Isaacs prepared to collect her body. But Alice was able to fight off the paralyzing influence, and massacred Isaacs' strike team. She had the chance to shoot down his helicopter, but realized that it could be the convoy's ticket to Alaska. She shows her love to Carlos by sharing a romantic kiss with him just before he sacrifices himself.Carlos, who had been infected by an infected LJ, drove a rigged tanker truck into a swarm of zombies, sacrificing himself to allow the survivors into the nearby Umbrella facility, where the convoy survivors lifted off in the helicopter.Alice, though, decided to stay behind, and finish things with Umbrella once and for all. What she found was carnage. Dozens of corpses, all with her face, filled a ditch on the grounds of the facility; clones, created by Isaacs to further his research into the virus and the anti-virus. She descended into the lab to find it destroyed.Amidst the wreckage was the White Queen, an AI similar to the one she had encountered five years prior in The Hive. The Queen informed her that her blood was the key to purging the world of the t-virus. The computer offered to help, but they could not proceed until Isaacs, now a hideous mutant, was killed. Alice fought the monster in a replica of the Spencer Mansion and the Hive, the battle eventually moving into a recreation of the laser room. Before Isaacs could strike a killing blow however, the laser grid activated, slicing through the creature and continuing toward Alice. Bracing herself for the end, she was surprised when the lasers deactivated, which had in fact, been controlled by another of her clones, who had woken up during her fight with Isaacs.A few hours later, Alice appeared, via hologram, at an Umbrella board meeting. She faced down chairman Albert Wesker, vowing to come for him, and bring a few of my friends. Outside, as she and the first clone looked on, the others began to wake up..Afterlife: In Afterlife, which takes place about 18 months after Extinction, Alice and her clones assault the Tokyo headquaters of the Umbrella Corporation. The clones kill everyone except Albert Wesker who escapes in a helicopter and activates a bomb that destroys the facility and kills all of Alice's clones. Alice escapes on the chopper with him and holds a gun to his head, preparing to execute Wesker, but he injects her with a serum that destroys the T cells in her body and renders her powerless. Wesker reveals that he has taken the T-Virus too and displays similar powers to Alice, defeating her, and asks her for her last words. Alice thanks Wesker, happy the he removed her powers as she's now fully human again. As Wesker prepares to kill her, the pilotless helicopter crashes, killing Wesker while Alice escapes alive. Alice manages to get a two-seater plane and flies to Alaska to find Arcadia and the other survivors. Alice finds a field full of abandoned planes and choppers and the chopper flown by Claire Redfield abandoned on a nearby beach with the book, which she gave K-Mart, on Arcadia still inside, but nothing else. As she wonders what to do next, she is attacked and defeats her attacker and is shocked to see that its Claire with a device on her chest. Alice removes the device, but finds Claire memory-less from a drug the device injected her with. Alice begins searching major cities for survivors and finds thousands of zombies surronding the Los Angeles Prison with a small group of survivors in it. Alice lands on the roof after releasing Claire who convinces her to trust her. The group is disappointed Alice is not from Arcadia and reveals that Arcadia is actually ship, now moored in the harbor, named the Arcadia and Alice guesses it must be traveling up and down the West Coast retrieving survivors at various locations. Claire's memory returns a bit and she remembers being met by soldiers from Arcadia after landing, but that something went wrong. After a short time in the prison and meeting Chris Redfield, The Executioner attacks and lets in the zombie horde, forcing the survivors to abandon the prison. Alice's plane is stolen by Bennett and the only escape vehicle is unusable due to the engine being out of it, but Alice leads an escape through a tunnel dug by zombies that leads into the storm drains. Alice, Claire and Chris end up the only survivors and make their way to Arcadia where they find the plane crashed on the deck with no sign of Bennett and the ship abandoned although the ship's log shows over 2,000 people still onboard. After finding a cargo hold with the Umbrella logo on it, Claire's memory of the events in Alaska returns and she remembers that the soldiers were Umbrella men who captured everyone else while she escaped after the device was put on her chest, causing Alice to realize that Arcadia is an Umbrella trap to get people to experiment upon. The group starts freeing the prisoners starting with K-Mart and Alice follows a blood trail to another room with bodies in it and a living Albert Wesker. Wesker reveals that his T-Virus powers allowed him to regenerate like Alice did after Raccoon City, but unlike her, the T-Virus is taking him over and he believes that eating her flesh will allow him to regain full control of himself. His actions and insanity are why the crew abandoned ship and he holds her at bay with an armed Bennett and two zombie dogs. However, Claire and Chris step in and Alice reminds him that she promised to bring a few friends along with her when she faced him. Claire and Chris unsuccesfully battle Wesker while Alice kills the zombie dogs with one of her shotguns and wounds Wesker with a knife to the head after he defeats Claire and Chris. Bennett thrawts her attempt to get her other shotgun to finish him off, but he's stopped by a recovered K-Mart who knocks him out and tosses Alice back her shotgun, allowing her to blow a massive hole through Wesker's head and free Claire and Chris. Wesker survives his wound, so Claire and Chris unload their pistols into him and trap him with Bennett. Wesker regenerates, kills Bennett and escapes on another chopper and activates another bomb to blow up Arcadia. Seeing this, Alice quickly calls Chris and Claire, but merely to watch, as she removed the bomb and put it on his chopper just in case, causing it to blow up. With a ship full of over 2,000 surivors, Alice decides to turn Arcadia into a real sanctuary for survivors and broadcasts her own message of hope to draw survivors to the ship. Unfortunately, a massive Umbrella force of choppers and soldiers approach the ship as the movie ends.Powers and Abilities: After Alice's exposure to the T-Virus via experimentation conducted by the Umbrella Corporation the virus somehow bonded with her in a way that is not seen in others who are infected with it which in turn gave her enhanced senses, agility, speed, strength, and accelerated healing similar to Albert Wesker's, but by the end of Apocalypse as an added bonus she was given powerful telekinetic abilities by added experimentation. A display of her physical abilities was demonstrated in a duel in Apocalypse where she was able to overcome the latest B.O.W. the Nemesis. While escaping from Dr. Isaac, her new telekinetic abilities were displayed during her break out of an Umbrella facility when she caused a guard in a surveillance room to bleed through his eyes, nose, ears and mouth, causing him an agonising death. In summary, she gains all of the T-Virus's positive effects and none of its negative effects like the decreasing of higher brain function, canabalistic cravings, and showed no sign of decomposing or rotting flesh. Alice was able of retaining her humanity and a strong sense of confidence in her skills as an advantage against even the most superior foes. Alice's telekinetic abilities were used twice in Extinction: once to deflect the fire used to kill the crows, & once again to deflect a mutated Dr. Isaacs. However during her battle with Isaacs she was only able to win with the help of one of her clones. Alice tricked Issacs into a laser security system which she knew could kill Issacs (even with his enhanced regenerative capabilities) and if not for her clone deactivating the system on time Alice would have shared the same fate as Isaacs. This still shows her cleverness and courage in battle, a trait that has kept her alive in her battles. In Resident Evil: Afterlife, Alice's clones were shown to posses at least telekinesis out of her powers and could use it on the same level she could. As Alice confronts Wesker on a chopper, he injects her with a serum that destroys the T-cells in her body from the virus and thus renders her powerless. Alice actually thanks Wesker for this as it allows her to become a normal human again. Even without her powers, Alice retains the same level of confidence and fighting skills as she possesed with them and is even able to defeat an empowered Wesker (who had similar powers to her own) by using her own cunning and skill. The Albert Wesker archetype, as the t-virus has given her superhuman abilities such as strength, speed, and agility. By the end, however, she has become more akin to Alexia Ashford.Trivia * Alice's name is only first revealed in the credits of the first film. The only people to ever use her name in the films are Angela Ashford (Resident Evil: Apocalypse), Carlos Oliveira (Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Extinction), Dr. Isaacs (Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Extinction), Albert Wesker (Resident Evil: Extinction), The White Queen (Resident Evil: Extinction), and Claire Redfield (Resident Evil: Afterlife).* Alice, Red Queen, and White Queen are all names of characters in Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There (the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). With little surprise, Alice was helped by the White Queen at Resident Evil: Extinction as Alice (Lewis Carroll's) was allies with the White Queen.
