Trish Rainone is an actress, a writer and producer from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. She got a small taste of the film business by appearing as a Sunshine Girl in 'Swearnet: The Movie' where watching the 'The Trailer Park Boys' and Director Warren P. Sonoda in action inspired her to make the move to pursue film. She feels like a comedy set is the "best place to be." Following this shoot, she moved to Toronto, ON & signed with an agent and also worked in production (fetching bacon for Directors) to understand the behind-the-scenes process. Trish was inspired by a Director of Photography who told her to create her own work. She realized producing would be her best bet, as it would enable her to be a part of the filmmaking process from start-to-finish, and she could cast herself in interesting roles (every actor's dream.) Inspired by a creepy basement apartment she shared with roommate, Rebecca Rodley, near the hidden St. Michael's cemetery, Trish decided to co-write the horror short, 'Hidden Cemetery', between bartending shifts and ramen noodle meals. Ian Pozzebon and Kevin Prystanski, dear friends and fellow filmmakers, asked to come on board. They all formed the horror into a film called 'Constance' which they shot guerilla style in the cemetery at night. The film, about a girl haunting two roommates in a basement apartment, made it's festival premiere in Georgia, U.S. at the Milledgeville Film Festival as one of 8 horror shorts screened. Though low-budget, the film was well-received by the audience. 'Constance' has since earned Trish Rainone a 'Best Actress/Best Female Performance' Award at the Horrorizon Film Festival in 2016. It also made as an Official Selection of the Northern Frights Film Festival & also was an Official Selection for the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival '16, where it screened at the Cineplex in Dundas Square in Toronto. In January, 2016, her and Katie Uhlmann (Pyramid Scream, Workin' Moms) met and hit-it-off. Two days later, the two sat down in a coffee shop together to write, 'My Roommate's an Escort.' The women set-out to raise a budget via business sponsors & Indiegogo supporters. They had a very successful campaign, raising well over 100% of their goal. David Carruthers (Billy Madison, Orphan Black) joined them as an Executive Producer, and brought along a great team of professionals to the project. The team was able to collect a dynamic cast for this kooky comedy series including, Juancarlos Velis (Downsizing), Angela Asher (Hard Rock Medical), Ellen Dubin (Napoleon Dynamite) & AC Peterson (Schitt's Creek.) The two are proud that the series has a 50/50 ratio of female to male cast/characters. Katie Uhlmann and Trish Rainone have received a raving review from John Doyle of 'The Globe & Mail' (much to their surprise and content) and have appeared on shows such as 'e talk' to chat about the series. The program released to the web in April of 2017, and the two are continuing to work together as a comedic writing team. Katie & Trish share a passion for story-telling, laughing and creating equal opportunity for males and females. They look forward to creating more content.
