Tom grew up in the suburbs of Madison, WI. Before he dedicated his life to the arts he was a competitive swimmer qualifying for the All-State team both individually in Butterfly and also in the Medley Relay. Tom was then admitted to the prestigious University of Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. After graduating, he moved to New York and appeared in multiple Broadway shows including the most recent revival of A Chorus Line, as Gregory Gardner, and in the ensemble of The Addams Family understudying the role of Lurch. After The Addams Family closed Tom was cast in the National Tour of the Tony Award winning production of The Normal Heart playing the roles of Craig and Grady, directed by George C Wolfe. He then relocated to Los Angeles from New York to transition his efforts towards a career in film and television while still participating in the Los Angeles theatre scene. Most recently Tom appeared in the critically acclaimed production of Bent at the Mark Taper Forum playing the role of Wolf, directed by Moisés Kaufman.
