From as early as his teens, while making fun VHS-tape comedy films with his friends, to operating an ENG-style camera on his high school TV news broadcast, Stephen Brevig knew he was destined to be a filmmaker. Stephen's creative work on feature films, shorts, music videos, and commercials has earned him a reputation for being a very detail oriented cinematographer. He has filmed several national spots for companies including Macy*s, Coca-Cola, Party City, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, Uncle Ben's, Amerijet and many more, several of these are featured on the Ion Television Channel.Born in Arlington Virginia, Brevig originally studied Business Administration, a career path that eventually led him towards producing short commercials for his friends' small businesses. It was during this time he discovered his love for creating beautiful images. Following his education at Radford University, Stephen began getting involved in several independent films and video projects. Once he was able to save up enough money to purchase his first camera back in 2008, he furthered his education by working on sets of independent films, reading books, experimenting on personal projects, and working with great professionals to gain enough experience to branch out on his own and flourish.Stephen has since worked as a Director of Photography on over 30 projects, has experience as a Camera Operator using high end cameras and as a Camera Assistant. Stephen continues to gain a vast array of lighting and camera knowledge everyday.Stephen has filmed over 15 movies and also has had the pleasure of working with celebrities such as Rick Ross, Sean 'Puff Daddy' Combs, FloRida, Timbaland, Mya, Taylor Momsen, Birdman, French Montana, Future, Omarion and Fat Joe just to name a few. Stephen has also been positioned alongside some of the best camera & lighting crews in the business, so he understands what it takes to develop beautiful images. He knows how to work cooperatively with a crew and communicate well with others to get the job done. He has dedicated his passion and love towards filmmaking in hopes of working on some amazing projects going forward. His goal is to one day to be a part of the American Society of Cinematographers.
