Shane graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 with a degree in Anthropology. "Go Heels!" It's a feat which he jokingly claims took him six years to accomplish. Jokingly, since Shane's scholarship was delayed several times due to his casting in a series of television shows and national speaking tours, not for the general college delinquency.Shane is the first openly gay male featured on MTV's Road Rules reality show's 2002 season Campus Crawl. After the ratings blowout of his original season, he went on to star in four of MTV's celebrated Road Rules/Real World Challenges as well as being one of six castmembers out of almost 90 to be invited back for the final farewell season of road rules called Road Rules: Viewers' Revenge.Shane's honest portrayal of gay identity and it's inherent struggles within American society lead to Shane's involvement with GP Entertainment and the beginning of his speaking tours at public and private universities around the country on issues of diversity, coming out and tolerance.
