Sean O'Reilly is an energetic and passionate visionary who has demonstrated his leadership, creativity, intelligence, humanity and resourcefulness as the founder and C.E.O. of Arcana Studios. Receiving his B.Sc. in Biology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. Canada in 1997, Sean received a second degree in 1999 with his B.Ed. from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. and then completed his M.Sc. in Leadership and Administration at the University of Oregon in 2002. Sean is pursuing his Ph.D. in a Doctoral of Management Information Services and Technology.As a lifelong fan of comic books, Sean's dream was to become a comic book creator. In 2004, Sean realized that dream by creating Arcana Studios. In one short year, Sean took his studio from a one-person operation in his basement to Canada's largest comic book publisher.Sean's artistic vision and his keen eye for talent quickly brought him success in 2004 by releasing five original comic titles, all of which have now been translated and distributed throughout the world. Sean's imagination proved boundless as the small company won The Shuster Award for Outstanding Publisher, as voted by the retailers and readers. As well Arcana Studio was nominated for a Harvey Award in its first year, a feat unheard of in the quarter century tenure of the award and in 2008 Sean won the Top 40 Under 40 Award in Vancouver.Most recently, Vlad Yudin and producing partner Edwin Mejia of The Vladar Co. announced that they will be working with Arcana Comics to produce a feature version of the upcoming graphic novel "Head Smash".Shortly thereafter, Bron Studios, a Canada-based company, announced that their first animated production will be none other than "Mighty Mighty Monsters," based on the book series written and created by Sean O'Reilly.Sean is one of the most prolific independent comic book writers in Canada, and while he is showing no signs of slowing down in comics, he is now producing and adapting his creations for the big and small screen. Clockwork Girl and The Gwaii have won the Moonbeam Award for top children's graphic novel and are being developed as a CGI animated feature.
