Sarah Lightman was born and raised in Hightstown, NJ. Her Parents, Aaron Lightman and Shelley Lightman were also artists at one point. She has one older brother. Just two weeks after her birth Bonnie Raitt was playing on TV. Her parents heard a playback of Bonnie's voice from Sarah's crib. It was that instant that they knew she too was an artist and wanted to perform. As soon as she turned 7, her mother enrolled her in ballet classes, and signed her up for theater camp. Her father, who initially inspired her to be an artist, unfortunately died from a freak accident just after Sarah turned 14. She was so shaken up from his death that she decided she got thrown off her creative path for several years. Sarah went off to college to pursue a theater degree (one year at community, and four more at Temple University) as she tried to find her way back.Sarah Lightman moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and left the acting and theater industry in 2017 to pursue her true passion of being a singer/songwriter and recording artist. "I realized that after 7 years of exploring the craft, acting wasn't enough for me, and that I always loved music more.
