Samara Stern was born in Toronto, Ontario where she began acting when she was nine years old. She performed in plays throughout elementary and high school, and began acting in film at the age of 17. She professionally trained at the joint theater program between Sheridan College and the University of Toronto.In July 2012, Samara produced and starred in 'U.S. Drag' at the Toronto Fringe Festival which was reviewed as one of the top ten shows in the Toronto Fringe by The Grid T.O. In the winter of 2013, she was directed by Babak Payami (winner of the "Special Director's Award - Silver Lion" at the Venice Film Festival 2001) in 'Manhattan Undying' and shot 'The Common Sense', a film that will be screening at The Kitchen Art Gallery, New York; De Appel Gallery, Amsterdam; and Casco Gallery, Utrecht (Executive Producers).Samara wrote and starred in the short film 'Meeting Jeff' which screened at the ReelWorld Film Festival in April 2014 and at the St. John's International Women's Film Festival in October 2014.
