Ryan Scott Jones was born in 1980 in Coffeyville, Kansas, and is the son of Bill and Pam Jones. In 1988, the family moved to Claremore, Oklahoma. He attended high school there, where he began his interest in film production. His first project was a short film entitled "Medieval Gumby" and was primarily a senior English assignment. He and co-director/friend Josh Barbee worked several days animating each frame and synchronizing sound with the picture. Throughout the spring of 1998, he and Barbee worked on a senior class project for a world history assignment. The movie was entitled "The French Revolution: The Movie." This film was a combination of comic chronicles and skits about the 1700s. He attended college at the University of Kansas, receiving his BA in Film Studies.After graduation, he co-founded the company 'SenoReality Pictures', with collaborator Patrick Rea. In 2004, he and Rea teamed up with Stephen Deaver and Bobby McGee to begin production on their first feature length film, The Empty Acre (2007). The film was first presented in 2006 at the Kansas International Film Festival and was released on DVD in 2007 through 'Cinema Epoch [us]' and Koch Entertainment.In 2006, Jones co-produced Heartland Horrors, a series of short films, including Woman's Intuition, Emergency Preparedness (2006) and The Thing About Bannon's Lookout (2006). The compilation film, also co-produced by Rea and Josh Robison, was released on DVD in 2007 through 'Cinema Epoch [us]' and Koch Entertainment. Show less «
