Rupert Wynne-James was born in Chipping Norton, UK. He grew up in Herefordshire and went to Prep School at Locker's Park in Hemel Hemstead, Hertfordshire. After that, he went to Harrow School from 1978-1981. He excelled in sports and after leaving school went to Argentina where he discovered tennis and then 2 years later went briefly on the tennis circuit becoming ranked in doubles. He then found a job as a tennis pro in London's most prestigious club at the time The Vanderbilt Club where he taught amongst other stars like Princess Diana, Dustin Hoffman,Charlton Heston etc. It was at this time that the camera discovered Rupert and he became a model and played in TV commercials.
