He attended Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania and went on to graduate from Howe Military school in Indiana. Drifting all over the States he has studied with a number of acting programs including The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the highly respected Maggie Flanigan Studio while working in New York City. He also studied playwriting at Maggie Flanigan Studio under the Playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis.Although born in Washington D.C., Mollohan was brought up in Fairmont, West Virginia, where his mother was a speech therapist and his father was a member of the United States House of Representatives for twenty-eight years. Mollohan's grandfather (and namesake), Robert "Bob" Homer Mollohan, served in that same capacity prior to his father.Mollohan began his acting career training with celebrated acting teacher Maggie Flanigan at her studio in New York. Since then, he has been working steadily as an actor in the New York and Los Angeles theatre community for over fifteen years. Notably, his critically acclaimed play,"Jesse Boy" (which he wrote and starred in), had its world premiere at LA's Ruskin Group Theatre. In the play, directed by Karen Landry, Mollohan plays a violent, sociopath, Elvis impersonator named "Richy."
