Originally from Kurume in Fukuoka, Japan, Rena began her career as a model and actor, appearing in local television commercials before getting her big break at the age of 17 when she was cast as the lead role in the movie "Ganbatte Ikimashou" in 1997. The following year, Rena won several awards for her debut performance, including "Best New Actress" from Kinema Jumpo Top 10 (a prestigious award in Japan). Rena has since gone on to star in various films and television programs, winning multiple awards for her work.
