Reg Tupper was born and raised in Vancouver. Although both sides of his family were prominent in the legal profession, he opted instead for acting, studying first at the University of British Columbia, and then at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England. Returning to Canada in the mid-seventies, he was based in Toronto, and appeared for several years in a number of shows at different venues across Canada, including The Stratford Festival. During that time he also commenced a radio career, working for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, broadcasting news and current events across Canada on the national network, as well as in the Ontario and Toronto markets. In the early eighties while still in Toronto he purchased the rights to a theatre hit from Vancouver and produced it, to great critical acclaim, in Toronto; for the next two years he went on to produce or co-produce several other works at the same venue. In 1984 he left the entertainment industry and returned to Vancouver where, over the next ten years, he worked as an investment advisor for a major Canadian brokerage firm; as an associate in a prominent BC public affairs partnership; as the Director of Marketing and Sales for one of BC's most successful fishing lodges, and as the general partner of a private fishing retreat. In 1994 he went back into acting as the local industry grew and expanded. He continues to work in film and television in Vancouver, where he sits on the Executive Board of the Union of BC Performers/ACTRA. He is also enrolled at Capilano University in their new Bachelor of Performing Arts program. Show less «
