After gaining a BA and MA in Drama Rebekah Began her career as an actor working extensively in theatre and TV including working with Directors David Yates and Colin Teague. In 1997 Along with Writer Peter Machen, Rebekah began to direct theatre and set up a critically acclaimed theatre company, which toured nationally until 2005. Her Theatre credits as a Theatre Director include Wuthering Heights, Broken Blossoms, Macbeth, The Tempest, Buzz Stop, Moll Flanders and The Floating Brothel.After undertaking a film directing course for women and shadowing some inspirational Directors she moved into film direction. Rebekah set up production company Seahorse Films in 2011 with long time collaborator and writer Peter Machen to develop a slate of films that combine creativity with commerciality, and that actively encourage more opportunities for women. Something Blue was her first short film and is an adaptation of a play she directed in 2000 This has now been selected for film festivals around the world including, Boston, Toronto, Seattle, Frankfurt and has been nominated for numerous awards. It has also been acquired by Channel 4 TV for their shooting gallery and has recently been sold for a US and European release. She has completed several other shorts including, Sex Love Other, Grown Up, Mustn't Grumble (also released internationally) and Violent Delights commissioned for anti bullying month and screened at Odeon Cinemas. Rebekah has recently completed her first no budget feature Deadly Intent and has several other projects at various stages of development including The New 30 a female driven comedy, developed with Channel 4.
