Philip Boyd is an American actor and writer in Los Angeles, CA. He currently can be seen on the OWN Network portraying "Oscar" in his third season of Tyler Perry's "The Haves and The Have Nots". He can also be seen on Netflix in the romantic comedy "In-Lawfully Yours" as "Chaz".Philip Boyd was born in Conyers, Georgia. After to moving to Los Angeles, CA, Boyd made several TV appearances early in his career before becoming a well known character on Tyler Perry's "The Have and The Have Nots". Philip recently married the Ukrainian model Polina Sikorska in August 2016. Philip Keith Boyd grew up in Conyers, Georgia with his three brothers. Deeply emerged in sports for his formative years, Philip was more interested in following in his Great Grandfather, Dave Harris's footsteps playing professional baseball. He decided to take a chance and move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. He took acting classes and speech classes to lose his thick Southern accent. In 2006, Boyd shared a "Best Ensemble Cast"m award for his role as "Matt" in "29 Reasons to Run" at the Bare Bones Film Festival. Philip also received a Best Supporting Actor Nominee for his work in "Clones Gone Wild" at the Action on Film Festival in 2009. In 2011, Philip took time away from his acting career and Los Angeles when he learned that his older brother David was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Unforturnately on January 4, 2012, David's battle with cancer ended, leaving behind his wife and two children. After returning to Los Angeles, Philip not only has been hard at work returning to acting and writing, but also expanding his reach to organizations like Camp Kesem. Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent's cancer. By offering innovative, funfilled programs that foster a lasting community, Kesem aims to ensure that every child affected by a parent's cancer is never alone.
