Michigan native Peter Hanson studied film production as an undergraduate at NYU and earned his MFA in screenwriting at UCLA. His work includes the feature-length documentaries "Tales from the Script" and "Every Pixel Tells a Story," numerous short films, and the books "Dalton Trumbo, Hollywood Rebel" (a finalist for the Theatre Library Association Award), "The Cinema of Generation X," and "Tales from the Script: 50 Hollywood Screenwriters Share Their Stories." He has written over 2,000 nonfiction articles, mostly about the entertainment industry, for various online and print outlets; spoken at numerous colleges and film festivals; appeared as a commentator in documentary films and TV shows in the U.S. and Japan; and taught film/screenwriting classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
