Pedro Baron was born April 14th, 1986, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to a Jewish Russian descent father and Catholic Uruguayan-Portuguese descent mother. At the age of five they moved to New York. There the cultural clash led him to develop a "fishbowl" point of view of life that has permeated his art ever since. During his time there his passion for movies was stirred and, since a child, the worlds in the flickering frames has enamored him.Once as a young teenager in a local video store, in Rio de Janeiro, he saw a VHS cover that scared yet fascinated him. Fortunately, the fascination was stronger and he rented out that VHS. It was Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange and it made him realize the difference between movies and films. He decided he wanted to become a filmmaker. At nineteen his father was transferred from Rio to Houston, so the family moved back to America. A couple of years later he finally came back to New York to pursue his career as filmmaker while attending the School of Visual Arts. There he was bombarded with different types of art and experiences; he voraciously saw films and expanded his horizons towards the medium. As a filmmaker he has done pieces that vary from horror comedies to existential military dramas, and as short experimental videos and commercials.
