Pauline Mark is a Film Producer, Writer, Director and Actor who has been involved in entertainment, culture and the arts for the last fifteen years. She started off as a theatre thespian in 2003, under the guidance of James Lee Wah and David Sammy of the San Fernando Theatre Workshop. Pauline participated in the organisation's "Dramatis Prepare" workshops, which comprised of thirty (30) training sessions that involved the art of performance, speech and movement. As a graduating student of the programme Pauline was cast in Junction Village and Sangre Grande by Two, which were staged by the organisation. She then honed her skills in more advanced methods and techniques of performance while training under the tutelage of Ellen O'Malley Camps and Louris Martin Lee-Sing of the Brown Cotton Theatre Ensemble in 2008. While there she was exposed to more complex ideologies regarding performance via the philosophies of theatre theorists like Brecht, Artaud and Grotowski. She also took part in the organisation's Street Theatre programme for that year and had a supporting role in the first staging of the play Fresh Water.During this period Pauline pursued a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Carnival Studies with a Minor in Gender Studies at the University of the West Indies. Her work, as a creative has been influenced heavily by her formal education in both fields. She continued to work as a stage actress and appeared in A Raisin in The Sun as Ruth Younger and Strictly Matrimony as Lady Polly. Both productions were directed by students of the Department for Creative and Festival Arts, as part of their Director 1 course. Pauline also worked with the Trinidad Theatre Workshop for the Playwrights Workshop Trinbago's "Triptych of Plays", where she took on the role of Precious in A Pleasant Sunday in 2010.Pauline's determination and evolution as a creative led her to pursue training in film acting at Talent Factory later that year. The programme was conducted by American film actors and acting coaches Kirk Baltz and Raphael J. Noble. Pauline also trained with cultural ambassador, Rhoma Spencer in her front of camera workshop. In 2013 she enrolled in the Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles, California where she participated in the PAW Master Class. As a film and television actress she appeared in several noted local productions, including: Between Friends (2012), The Cool Boys (2012), Positive and Pregnant (2011) and A Story About Wendy (2012). In 2012 Pauline became the highest billed local cast member to appear in Home Again, a Canadian film production shot on location in Trinidad and Tobago. In 2015 she appeared alongside Bollywood legend Kabir Bedi and Soca titan Machel Montano in Bazodee.Pauline's experiences in the film industry propelled her to create PWTM Productions Limited with her sister Monique Mark in 2014. Through the organisation Pauline created, co-wrote and produced The Apartment: About Last Night pilot film. As an Independent Film and Television Producer Pauline has created valuable content for state media that highlights the people, places and culture of Trinidad and Tobago; including Successful International Trins, The Evolution of Soca Music, Drama Queens (short), Signature Foods of T&T and Carnival Fever. She also concpetualised and produced nine episodes of X and Y TV series. She served as a Co-Producer and Writer for seasons 7 and 8 of Wired 5.0 Carnival magazine programme.Pauline has also freelanced throughout the industry and worked as a promotional model for Angostura Limited and Bmobile (Blink), and as a fitness model for M.A. Sports Wear, as well as the catalogues of local photographers. She has appeared in television commercials for noted brands, products and organisations, including: Ocean Spary, First Citizens Bank Limited, Digicel Business, Flow, Brunswick Tuna, The National Gas Company Limited (NGC), Carib Brewery Limited, The Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Limited (TTMF), RBC, First Citizens Bank, GISL and more. She has also lent her voice skills to advertisements for Colcafe and CNC3 Television. As a Writer Pauline has contributed articles to Caribbean Runway magazine. She also served as a Coordinator for the Animae Caribe Animation Festival in 2014 and as the MovieTowne Venue Manager for the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in 2013 and 2014.Pauline served as a Cultural Programme Coordinator and Cultural Officer at the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism and won awards from the National Carnival Bands Association for their Traditional Carnival character presentations in 2010 and 2011. She received the award for Best Carnival Studies Student in 2009 from the University of the West Indies.Pauline continues to work throughout the industry, contributing to content that can improve the overall landscape of the creative industries in Trinidad and Tobago.
