Nigel was born in Atikokin, Ontario the "Canoeing Capital of the World" and grew up in Toronto and spent some of his formative youth in Tokyo, Japan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He attended Ryerson Theatre School and soon after graduation began his professional career working in Children's theatre with Actor's Trunk Co., Theatre Direct and co-founded the Acorn Theatre Company in Peterborough for young audiences. Nigel's first major production in Toronto was playing Demetrius in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for Can Stage. He has been a professional actor for over thirty years now and in that time has had the pleasure of working in all aspects of the entertainment business. Theatre credits include work at the Stratford Festival, on Broadway in NYC, Can Stage, Theatre Aquarius, Drayton Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Grand Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick and Mirvish Productions in Toronto. His vast TV/Film credits include many roles on TV series, recurring roles on Degrassi and Radio Free Roscoe and films like Cadet Kelly, St.Roz, Celine, Loretta Clairborne, All Hat, Parkland, and Interstate 60, Dr.Cabbie and recently guess starring in Really Me, Wingin' It, May Day and Reign. Nigel is also a teacher and acting coach. He is currently the On-camera acting teacher at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto. Nigel makes his home in Burlington, Ontario with his wife Cintia.
