Nathan Rich was born on February 13, 1982 in Los Angeles, California. He is an only child of a single parent (now deceased). Nathan grew up in Scientology. He was disowned by his entire family after spending 4 years in Scientology's infamous Mace-Kingsley Ranch. He appeared on the Emmy award winning "A&E's Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" in October, 2017. He has authored a book in hopes to share his inspirational story of overcoming indoctrination and homeless to the world.Nathan worked in technical companies for several years, with clients like Gatorade, Skateboard.com, Snowboard, NARAS (the Grammys), AMPAS (the Oscars), Nissan, 19 Entertainment, and TBWA/Chiat Day.Nathan entered the Visual Effects industry 2011, as a systems and network administrator, at Luma Pictures. He helped to support production on films like World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles (2011), X-Men: Le commencement (2011), and Fright Night (2011).He moved on to a VFX startup company, and then to Base FX in 2014. He is the Chief Technology Officer at Base FX, and has built out the technology platform to support production on films like Jurassic World (2015), Star Wars: Episode VII - Le réveil de la Force (2015), and Sans un bruit (2018).
