Michael Sigler was born at just after 6:00 in the morning on July 2, 1964 at Miners Hospital in Frostburg, MD, USA. His first stage experience was in Mrs. Conway's first grade class at Frost Elementary School when he sang "I'm Going To Ride in a Rocket Ship" in a play. It was a timely selection as this whole moon thing was still pretty new at that time.Raised in a musical family, Michael learned to sing and play the piano before his feet could reach the pedals as was the case with his sister, his niece and, he assumes, most of his many cousins. Of course, this led to other instruments and music of all kinds throughout school and life. His most cherished school memories are of his years in Symphonic Band, Marching Band and Senior Choir at (the mighty) Allegany High School in Cumberland, MD.While exposed to theatre at Frostburg State College and Montgomery College Rockville, Michael was actually bitten while studying with Bethany Brown at American Showcase Theatre in Alexandria, VA. He began acting in the Washington, DC area in 1989 and continued until 1994 when he took what was to be a temporary break from acting for personal reasons.Twenty years later, after marrying his dream girl, Laurie, and living a wonderful civilian life together, with Laurie's full support he returned to acting at the 2014 Montgomery Playhouse One-Act Festival. This proved to fill the space in his life that nothing else could ever quite fill. With the floodgate now open, Michael could no longer imagine a life without performance, nor would he ever attempt to live such a life again.
