Michael Racanelli is a writer, director, actor, and Emmy award-winning producer. A former musician, it was after a chance featured extra part in a Neil Burger film that shot in Chicago in 2007, that his love for moviemaking was ignited. An Angeleno since 2010, he drove out in his 2002 Chevy Cavalier with no working air conditioning, 171,000 miles on the odometer, and pulled up on Alta Vista Boulevard in Hollywood with $350 dollars to his name. While sleeping on a friend's apartment floor, he quickly figured out the ropes in La La Land, throwing himself into acting and improv courses as well as auditioning. After the unexpected death of his father in 2014, he was inspired to create opportunities for himself and others, rather than chase them. Shifting gears into screenwriting, he developed relationships with major award-winning writers and producers who were impressed by his ability and helped to mentor him. Winning an Emmy award in 2016 and having a number of original projects under his belt covering everything from comedy to sci-fi, he continues to develop a wide slate of content through his production company, Brighton Park Media.
