MELISSA RAQUEL was born on the east coast and from a early age cultivated her love of acting at the prestigious Flat Rock Playhouse, Boston- where at age 16 she landed the lead in a stage production of "Alice In Wonderland." The following year she continued her pursuit of the stage as the lead again in "Enchanted April", "Oleana" and "Proof".Melissa graduated from high school and auditioned and accepted a full four year scholarship to attend American Music & Dramatic Academy in Hollywood California. After conservatory training, Melissa attended PlayHouse West (Meisner technique), Anthony Mendel Studio (scene study), The Groundlings (sketch comedy) and Ivana Chubbick (character development). This past winter, 2014, Melissa joined "The Lemmings" improv group through "National Lampoons".Melissa has developed a distinctive acting style, which finds her a favorite among hungry new independent filmmakers... i.e. Adam Davenport of (First Lady Films) and Aj Riley (Ajr Imaging).She is commanding as the lead in several Independent shorts- notably in the "The Infected" a short film that has won Best Horror Short- Action on film International Film Festival & Best short- Spooky Movie International Film festival- 2014.Melissa was just cast in her first lead in the feature film "Wish" from director John Lawrence (Sunset Gower Studios), where she will tell the true story of Little Red Riding Hood, film production starts summer 2015.Melissa is a well trained and passionate actress, who not only loves her craft, but respects and understands the business side of the industry as well... she is fully committed and ready for any challenges!
