Melissa wasted no time getting her career in order, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Drama from the University of London. Her first major job after graduation was working as the Head of Business and Development for "The TV Group" that launched interactive digital TV channels to niche markets in the United Kingdom. Melissa also found success in writing having been published in trade and entertainment press. She was recognized by "Media Week" magazine's "30 Under 30" contest as one of thirty promising writers under the age of thirty.Melissa moved to the United States in 2006 in pursuit of an acting career. She began her career that same year in a short film. She attended University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), studying screen-writing and producing which soon prepared her for eventual film work. In 2007 Melissa wrote, directed and starred in a film short Nothing (2008). She appeared on an episode of Amour, gloire et beauté (1987) in 2008. Further credits include Thor et le marteau des dieux (2009), 2012: Supernova (2009) and Dark Journey (2012).
