A native Floridian, Melissa has returned home to continue her career in film and television after studying and living in New York for ten years. Her interest in performance and directing was fostered during her four years in the Dr.Phillips High School Theatre Magnet program in Orlando, FL before moving to New York to study Acting at Marymount Manhattan College. During her time at Marymount, she served as the President of the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance where she led efforts to support the needs of women and children in the community of New York and around the world. FMLA also provided a platform for Melissa to co-direct and produce annual productions of The Vagina Monologues, marrying her love of performance and production with humanitarian benevolence. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the BFA Acting program, Melissa spent her first 3 years out of school collaborating with fellow alumni and MMC faculty members to create Blueprint Theatre Project- a theatre company dedicated to producing original, site-specific performance art throughout New York City. The success of the Blueprint productions served as a launching point for Melissa's professional career as an actress, which shifted quickly from theatre to film and television. A member of SAG-AFTRA since 2011, Melissa has worked on shows including The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire, and All My Children in addition to various feature films and shorts. After returning to Florida in 2015, she signed on to play the supporting role of Angela Logan in Mirrors - a pilot she is now also producing alongside Orlando-based writer/director Corey Beauregard. In addition to working actively in the commercial and voiceover market, Melissa stays involved with organizations including Women In Film and Television to support camaraderie in the filmmaking community and to encourage production development in the state of Florida.
