Matt Kohler is an American actor, producer and writer. He has starred in several film and television productions including Hart of Dixie (2011), Betty White's Off Their Rockers (2012) and Nip/Tuck (2003).Born and raised in Port Washington, Wisconsin, just north of Milwaukee aside Lake Michigan. Matt has a twin brother, James Kohler, who is an actor and fitness model. Prior to his acting career he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). During this time he modeled as a fashion, commercial, and fitness model. Most notably working with photographer Mario Testino for VMan magazine.Matt began his acting career with the desire to move, inspire and entertain others through his work. He studied acting rigorously, including four years of training with renowned acting teacher Aaron Speiser, coach for Will Smith and Gerard Butler, ultimately working in his esteemed Master Class.In 2012, he launched his own production company, Silver Hero Entertainment, and has since produced several projects. His first was a live-action trailer Captain Planet (2012) in which he played Captain Planet and Captain Pollution. The trailer went viral, being featured and reviewed on over 100 websites, Entertainment Weekly stated "Given the choice between a studio remake and this quasi-gritty indie take, I'd go with the latter." Sony Pictures took notice of the trailer and is developing a Captain Planet feature length film.Kohler wrote, directed, produced and starred in an award-winning short film titled Typecast (2014). He plays Blake, an actor that strives to break free of his "type" to play more interesting roles that move and inspire others. Typecast (2014) is a short film (approx. 26 min) that won "Best of Drama" at the 2014 Wildwood Film Festival. It was an Official Selection in the 2014 New York International Independent Film Festival. Although it takes place in the entertainment industry, many will relate to the subject matter and overall message of the film. Matt was inspired to write the script after he saw Vin Diesel's short film Multi-Facial (1995).In 2014, he completed principal photography on two feature films he produced and starred in. Deadly Retreat (2016), a comedic horror also starring Jonathan Bennett. Kohler stars as Doug Mastur, President of a company that goes to the mountains for their annual winter retreat. Unfortunately for them, a self-proclaimed serial killer is trying to make a name for himself and has targeted this group of young professionals. But as fate would have it, emotions run high among his prey, which prevents the killer from executing his plan. Social Norm (2016), a coming of age comedy that deals with the current twenty-something dilemma of career and relationships. Matt stars as Morgan, the successful business owner and "Hitch" to the lead. Morgan helps Norm and his brothers move forward with their lives in his own way. Show less «
