Mark was born in Leeds, England. In 1979 he moved with his family to Sheffield, England, the city in which he still lives. Following in his father's footsteps Mark took to acting from an early age with the lead as Lord Horatio Nelson on the stage of the original Leeds Playhouse. Mark decided however that film and TV was more exciting than theatre, and he decided not to pursue theatre, at least not for the time being. With a compelling ambition to be involved in performances that were natural, realistic and true-to-life, rather than using over-emphasis and speaking in a grandiose tone and gesturing wildly, something found in early theatre, Mark researched the Stanislavski System and he also researched the teachings of the likes of Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen. Starting as a Supporting Artiste then having had walk-on roles, and some roles with dialogue on film and TV, Mark is now working towards his dream of becoming a principal actor and as part of this process, and to extend his repertoire, Mark takes his LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) exams at Grade 8 later this year.
