Mark-john was born in the East End of London. His parents then moved to south London where he and his younger sister grew up on the well publicized Thamesmead estate. He took up boxing for the Lion ABC boys club at a young age, located on the Hoxton-Shoreditch borders, a mildly gentrified corner of London's East End. At 16 years of age, with family connections in the world of horse racing, he applied and gained entry to the British Racing school in Newmarket where he had aspirations of becoming a professional Jockey. A few years later, it was apparent that his height and weight were going to cause him many problems in this profession. He later returned to Islington, where all of he's immediate family were born and raised. Drama was a main subject and love for him at school, and in his early thirties he decided to enroll in drama school and attend numerous acting workshops to become a professional actor. As of 2014 he is mainly focusing on his writing and directing of his numerous short and feature films. Show less «
