Maria was born in Buzau, Romania, in November 1987. She moved to London in 2010 where, after completing her training, she joined Playades Theatre company and worked with them on three subsequent shows that ran in London and Edinburgh. Alongside theatre and voiceover work, Maria also appeared in a number of short films and two features. She is the co-founder of Fanny Pack Theatre, a London-based international company which brings together up-and-coming artists to create theatre work centered around the stories of contemporary women.
