Lucy hails from Skokie, Illinois. From the earliest beginnings as East Prairie School's "Scrooge" at the age of six that ended in the assembly's first standing ovation, Lucy Render-Kaplan knew what she wanted her future to hold: acting. The Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston and its Young People's Company was Lucy's training ground. From there to "Actress of the Year" at Old Orchard Junior High to lead roles in "The Diviner's" and another standing ovation as director of the short story "Priscilla and the Wimps" to the Des Plaines Community Theatre's production of "Come Back to the Five & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean" as Mona, Lucy's interest never waned.She attended Niles North High school. She was in various theatrical plays there. Lucy attended school in Chicago, working towards an acting degree. She acted on the short-lived television show "Cupid" with Jeremy Piven whom she worked with at the Piven Theater Workshop. She has also been in some television commercials including one for Sears Roebuck. She has had bit roles in several independent film productions including Bottom's Up (2006)and Crazy (2006).
